Job Description

Careerscape is recruiting for a Wyoming natural resources agency that needs a Wildlife Biologist to study game and non-game species and manage wildlife populations. You'll conduct surveys, analyze data, and make management recommendations.

Study wildlife while protecting Wyoming's natural heritage.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct wildlife population surveys and monitoring
  • Capture and mark animals for research studies
  • Analyze habitat conditions and make recommendations
  • Collect biological samples and data
  • Write technical reports and management plans
  • Collaborate with landowners and sportsmen groups
  • Present findings to public and stakeholders
  • Assist with hunting season management
  • Maintain field equipment and vehicles

Requirements

  • Master degree in Wildlife Biology or related field
  • 2-4 years of wildlife research or management experience
  • Strong knowledge of Wyoming wildlife species
  • Experience with wildlife capture and handling techniques
  • Proficiency with data analysis and statistics
  • Valid driver license with clean record
  • Physical fitness for backcountry fieldwork
  • Strong scientific writing and communication skills
  • Hunting or outdoor recreation background valued
