Structural Steel Estimator
Locations: Baltimore, MD | Hartford, CT
Salary Range: $100-$120K (based on experience)
A well-established, industry-leading steel fabrication and erection firm with a strong East Coast presence is seeking experienced Structural Steel Estimators to join their teams in Baltimore, MD or Hartford, CT .
About the Role:
This position focuses on estimating structural and miscellaneous metals for large-scale commercial, institutional, and industrial projects. You'll be part of a respected organization known for its technical precision, safety culture, and ability to execute complex steel solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze drawings, blueprints, and specifications to develop accurate cost estimates
Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to complete competitive bids
Assess labor, materials, and timelines to produce detailed pricing models
Contribute to pre-construction planning and proposal development
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in structural or miscellaneous steel
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science or a related field with coursework in finance or accounting
Strong proficiency with spreadsheet tools (e.g., Excel)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
