Job Description

Prestage Foods in St. Pauls is looking for a _ Staff Accountant _ to perform a variety of accounting and financial duties. The Staff Accountant responsibilities include maintaining financial records, reviewing general ledger accounts, and various other accounting duties. You will also run accounting software programs to process daily transactions and month-end entries. A successful Staff Accountant should be familiar with all accounting procedures, be very detail-oriented, and be an initiative-taker. A successful Staff Accountant will ensure that all the company’s daily, monthly and annual accounting needs are met. 

Responsibilities

• Post transactions such as payables and receivables in the general ledger

• Reconciliation of inventories

• Create and post various journal entries

• Prepare documents and assist with audits

• Perform month-end close tasks

• Reconcile general ledger accounts

• Maintain and reconcile various spreadsheets for financial and production reporting

Requirements

• Manage and maintain sensitive information in confidential and meticulous manner

• Work independently and be well organized

• Familiarity with bookkeeping and accounting procedures

• Competency in MS Office, particularly Excel

• Ability to learn multiple software programs

• Excellent communication skills

• Firsthand experience with spreadsheets, general ledger accounts, and financial reports

• Accuracy and attention to detail

• Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration, or comparable experience in the area of accounting
