Job Description

Senior Network Administrator position supporting the Army National Guard (ARNG) in Falls Church, VA. This position requires someone with a current and active Secret clearance.

This is an IT Service Management contract in support of the operation, modernization, expansion, and further evolution of the ARNG’s global Information Technology (IT) services including networking, compute, storage, infrastructure, applications, hosting, and program management services.  The GECOS program supports the ARNG enterprise IT infrastructure, its Wide Area Network (WAN), authentication and directory services, cybersecurity, application hosting, and associated services. GECOS uses ITIL best practices framework as the basis for IT Service Management (ITSM) model.

HOW A SENIOR NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

• Support the network services team to develop complex solutions to meet ARNG strategic projects and initiatives.
• Configure, manage, and maintain the physical and virtual infrastructures to include Cisco routers, layer 3 switches, firewalls, Palo Alto IDS/IPS.
• Perform required maintenance off hours and support 24x7 operations of a large enterprise infrastructure in accordance with established schedules and best practices.
• Implement and maintain DISA STIGs baselines IAW quarterly releases.
• Support CORA inspections required to maintain ATOs.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures.
• Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to complex problems.
• Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and remote access systems.
• Create and defend system change requests.
• Develop, maintain, and implement a proactive capacity planning model to support business decisions.
• Maintains network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability.
• Coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.
• Creates, plans and configures systems for data communication networks.
• Designs and builds hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks.
• Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
• Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Education: 10+ years of relevant experience as an Information Technology professional
• Required Experience: 5+ years’ experience Cisco and Palo Alto Routing, Switching, IDS/IPS, and Firewall technologies  
• Required Technical Skills: Understanding routing (BGP/OSPF), MPLS, multi-VRF appliances, Firewall and IDS/IPS concepts

• Certifications:
  • Must meet DoD IAT Level II IA baseline certification at start date.
  • Must meet DoD IAT Level II IA Computing Environment (CE) certification at state date: (i.e. Cisco, Palo Alto, etc.).
  • Require Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • Desire Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
• Security Clearance Level: SECRET Clearance
• Required Skills and Abilities: Superb communication skills; strong ability to troubleshoot and multi-task
