Salary: $127,310 - 243,340 per year Requirements:
- I am looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with a core quantitative curriculum. Alternatively, I will consider a candidate with an additional four years of relevant experience in place of a degree. The ideal applicant should have a minimum of 6 years of related professional experience in model validation, model development, statistical analysis, and/or advanced quantitative research, or hold an advanced degree (e.g., Master's, PhD) in a quantitative field along with four years of related work experience. I value experience in communicating quantitative and technical concepts effectively, both in writing and verbally, to non-technical audiences, senior leadership, auditors, and regulators. Proficiency in programming languages such as R, Python, SAS, Java, C, SQL, or comparable languages for model development is essential. I expect extensive experience with at least three statistical, econometric, data science, and predictive modeling techniques, as well as strong knowledge of banking and insurance operational contexts.
Responsibilities: - In this role, I seek a skilled professional to implement independent model validation control activities for both high-risk internal and vendor models. You will utilize expert technical methods to design and execute validation testing plans. Your tasks will include replicating model development and potentially creating challenger models using various advanced modeling techniques. You will conduct comprehensive model testing and assess data quality across different datasets, including large and unstructured datasets. I will need you to review the entire lifecycle management of model development and implementation in banking and insurance, focusing on ongoing monitoring and usage. Additionally, you will evaluate model risk ratings, model changes, and oversee the validation work of peers, producing and delivering validation reports to management and senior leadership. You will also ensure the model validation process aligns with the established risk and compliance policies and continuously evaluate model risk control strengths.
