Assignment Duration: 7-week contract (with possible extension)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Registered Nurse Practice Educator (RNNPE) for a short-term contract assignment at a healthcare facility in the Woodmont area. This role focuses on delivering staff education, clinical training, and performance development within the facility to ensure high standards of nursing care. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical knowledge, leadership skills, and experience in both bedside care and nurse training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct orientation and ongoing education for nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs).
- Evaluate clinical competencies and ensure compliance with standards of care and policy.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify staff training needs and implement targeted programs.
- Provide bedside mentoring and real-time clinical support to nursing personnel.
- Assist in developing and updating educational materials, policies, and procedures.
- Promote evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Facilitate skills training, simulation, and competency assessments.
Required Qualifications:Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing ( BSN ) required; Master's in Nursing or Education preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience .
- At least 1 year of experience as a nurse educator , clinical trainer, or preceptor.
- Previous experience in long-term care, acute care, correctional, or rehabilitation settings preferred.
Licensure & Certifications:
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of assignment (or compact license).
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- ACLS preferred.
- Certification in Nursing Professional Development (e.g., ANPD , NE-BC ) is a plus.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong teaching, coaching, and leadership skills.
- In-depth understanding of nursing best practices and clinical guidelines.
- Ability to develop and implement training programs and competency assessments.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in EMR systems and clinical documentation.
- Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
Work Environment:Medical Setting:
- Inpatient long-term care or rehabilitation environment
- Educational and clinical support provided on patient units
Physical Setting:
- Facility-based role with movement across units; frequent standing, walking, teaching at bedside and classroom settings
Patient Ratio:
- Indirect care role; may oversee or support education for staff responsible for typical ratios of 1:8 1:12 depending on unit acuity
Contract Details:
- Contract Length: 7 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Schedule: Monday through Friday (No weekends or holidays)
- Shift: Day shift (7:00 AM 3:30 PM), with 30-minute meal break
