This role is for a Registered Nurse in a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) setting within a Level I Trauma Center and Magnet hospital. The RN will provide skilled nursing care in a fast-paced environment, requiring experience in various cardiovascular and vascular surgical procedures, as well as thoracic and endoscopic procedures. The position includes on-call responsibilities and requires a minimum of three years of experience, with preference given to candidates with trauma or major operating room experience.

Responsibilities:
- Providing skilled nursing care during cardiovascular, vascular, thoracic, and endoscopic surgical procedures.
- Performing patient assessments and administering medications.
- Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
- Managing patient care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
- Participating in on-call shifts (1-2 nights/week and every 3-4 weekends).
- Adhering to universal protocol and maintaining proper specimen handling.
- Maintaining accurate documentation within the electronic health record (Cerner).
- Floating within scope to meet facility needs as required.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN), with preference given to candidates with trauma or major operating room (MOR) experience.
- Active Registered Nurse license in Illinois.
- BLS certification.
- Experience with a wide range of cardiovascular, vascular, thoracic, and endoscopic surgical procedures (specific procedures listed in input).
- Experience in a teaching hospital and Level II Trauma Center setting.
- Proficiency in specimen handling and universal protocol procedures.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- ACLS certification.
Special Considerations:
- On-call responsibilities: 1-2 nights per week and every 3-4 weekends.
- Maximum 5-day RTO restriction.
- Guaranteed hours with a clause for client cancellations up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment.
- Scrub color provided.
- Parking permit required (no cost).
- Experience with Whipple procedure required.
Scheduling:
- 4 ten-hour day shifts (6:15 AM - 4:45 PM).
- Schedule requests should be discussed with the manager.
