We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Project Manager to lead and deliver complex projects within public sector environments. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing large-scale, multi-stakeholder projects with 5+ years of experience working directly with public agencies , government departments, or municipal entities. The Project Manager will oversee project planning, resource coordination, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery, ensuring alignment with agency goals, compliance, and stakeholder expectations.
Key Responsibilities:Lead end-to-end project management for public sector initiatives, including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and quality control.
Serve as the primary liaison between the agency, contractors, vendors, and internal/external stakeholders.
Facilitate meetings, presentations, and status updates with stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment.
Develop and maintain project documentation including project plans, status reports, issue logs, and change requests.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and adhere to procurement policies and public sector standards.
Monitor and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, implementing mitigation strategies where necessary.
Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage third-party vendors or consultants as needed.
Track performance using appropriate tools, systems, and KPIs to ensure timely and within-budget delivery.
Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
5+ years of project management experience working directly with public agencies (e.g., city, county, state, or federal).
Proven experience managing projects of similar size, scope, and complexity, preferably in areas such as infrastructure, IT modernization, education, health, or transportation.
Strong understanding of public sector procurement, contracting, and compliance processes.
Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Proficiency with project management software such as MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or similar tools
