We are seeking an experienced Locums Neonatology Physician to provide high-level neonatal care at a Level II Trauma Center in Redding, CA. This role involves comprehensive NICU coverage with 24-hour call responsibilities and management of high-acuity newborns.
Compensation:$2500 Per Day
Position Details

Schedule:24-hour call coverage
Start: Ongoing coverage needs
EMR: Cerner Care B
Required Clinical Skills & Procedures
Ventilatory assistance, including ETT CPAP
Nasal CPAP >4 hrs, >6 cm H₂O, or FiO₂ >0.60
Surfactant administration beyond initial dosing
Administration of cardiac pressors
Management of FiO₂ >0.60
Management of PaCO₂ >50 on two ABGs 1 hour apart
Peripheral arterial line or central line placement
Chest tube insertion
Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) management
Exchange transfusions
Care of infants <32 weeks gestation
Care of infants <1600 grams birth weight
Qualifications
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatal/Perinatal Medicine
Active State Medical License (California preferred)
BLS, NRP, and DEA required
Prior NICU experience with high-acuity newborns strongly preferred
