[Job Responsibilities]{.underline}

Under general supervision, Clerk 1 performs case management duties, receives files, processes new cases: reopens cases, files and dockets proceedings along with journalizing; prepares necessary forms and issues as required; prepares cases for the Judge/Magistrate; services of process; issues writs, warrants, summons, subpoenas, etc.; prepares and files Certificates of Judgement; keeps journals up to date; enters cases into accounts receivable as necessary; may testify on behalf of the office; answers and directs incoming calls; responds to incoming public.

[Minimum Qualifications:]{.underline}

Must possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. with coursework or experience in office practices and procedures; basic typing and computer skills, at least one year's experience as a Deputy Clerk, or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An individual who poses a direct threat to the health and safety of himself/herself or others in the workplace will be deemed not qualified for this position. Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license. Must be able to comply with the Ashtabula County Drug Free Workplace Policy. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
