Job Description

Iowa City Landscaping & Garden Center in Iowa City, IA is looking a qualified individual to lead one of our landscape maintenance teams. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, good communicator, ambitious, and reliable. You would be leading a team of 1 - 2 additional people in performing garden tasks such as pruning, weeding, small removals, mulching, light planting, edging, etc. primarily in Iowa City and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities:

· Perform and oversee maintenance, planting, and associated tasks.

· Organize maintenance equipment, advise supervisor of equipment needs.

· Ensure that other employees practice proper techniques for planting, pruning, and other

tasks relevant to the job.

· Ensure that the jobsite is maintained professionally and left in an orderly fashion

· Ensure that safety procedures are followed while in company vehicles and on the jobsite.

· Keep vehicles and other power equipment clean and in working order, and that

scheduled maintenance is performed.

· Ensure jobsite functions efficiently to maintain profitability.

· Follow the work schedule set by the supervisor.

· Attend staff and safety meetings. Report injuries promptly

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

· Working knowledge of plants

· Knowledgeable in landscaping and maintenance techniques

· Able to lift fifty (50) pounds

· Valid Iowa driver’s license
