Overview
The marketing intern will gain broad exposure to the publishing process as well as be responsible for assisting in various marketing and publicity functions for the Thomas Nelson fiction team.
Responsibilities
Attend team meetings, including but not limited to titling, staff, title alignment (TAM), marketing team meetings, and sales conference
Assist in creating social media marketing assets (i.e. social graphics) and content schedules/calendars
Help to implement promotional campaigns
Learn to manage Librarian and Reviewer requests through NetGalley
Help manage the creation and distribution/mailing of book copies to reviewers, media, authors, and sales
Assist in the creative pieces of writing advertising, keywords, email, website, and ad copy
Research marketing trends and industry competitors, as well as compile marketing data from internal sources, such as Power BI
Some clerical work (i.e. photocopying, printing and binding manuscripts, filing, email, note taking, etc.)
Qualifications
Candidates who are available to work in a full-time capacity in 2026 or 2027 are eligible for this internship; open to rising seniors, recent graduates, master's students, or entry level candidates with up to two years of work experience.
Candidates must be available to work 28 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, from June 8 to August 13, 2026. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are mandatory in-office days at our Nashville headquarters, while Mondays and Thursdays are remote workdays. Compensation for this internship is $18 per hour.

Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
Canva design experience a plus
Basic knowledge of social media and digital marketing
Excellent communication skills, both interpersonal and written, with strong knowledge of English grammar and usage, and good use of tact and diplomacy
Team player
Research skills
Candidates should have a working knowledge of how Marketing, Public Relations and Sales work together. General understanding of the fiction market is a plus but not required.
