City of Pierz - Golf Course Superintendent

The City of Pierz is seeking a highly skilled Golf Course Superintendent to lead the maintenance and management of the City's Golf Course, Campground, and Park Complex. As the Superintendent, you will have the opportunity to showcase your expertise in agronomic practices, team leadership, and operational excellence.

Job Summary:

• Manage the City of Pierz Golf Course grounds, including maintenance and operations
• Supervise ground crew and seasonal laborers
• Develop hiring plans for seasonal staff
• Ensure year-round maintenance of the Park Complex
• Collaborate on golf course improvements with City stakeholders

Scope of Responsibility:

• Oversee daily park operations, including the golf course and campground
• Plan for maintenance and capital improvements
• Promote a safe and positive work environment
• Attend council and park board meetings
• Stay current with industry trainings and certifications

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage golf course grounds and maintenance
• Protect golf course quality year-round
• Supervise ground crew and seasonal laborers
• Develop hiring plans for seasonal staff
• Maintain park and campground year-round
• Operate and maintain equipment
• Ensure facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained
• Assists Public Works with snow/ice removal during off-season.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Two years of formal training in turf management or related field
• Three to five years of experience in golf course maintenance
• Noncommercial Pesticide Applicator License required
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital tools

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

• Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
• Physical exertion such as walking, lifting, and machinery operation
• Ability to lift over 60 pounds
• Weekend and holiday work during season
