Overview

The High Reach Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating powered industrial trucks to move, locate, stack, and count chemical products and materials within the warehouse. This role supports inbound and outbound logistics while maintaining compliance with safety and handling standards for chemical goods.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate High Reach Forklift to move pallets of products to and from storage racks (up to 30+ feet high).
  • Load and unload trailers with chemical products and raw materials.
  • Perform put-away and replenishment tasks accurately using RF scanners.
  • Conduct inventory checks and ensure proper labeling and documentation.
  • Follow strict safety protocols for handling chemicals, including PPE requirements and spill containment procedures.
  • Inspect forklift daily and report maintenance issues promptly.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas to prevent contamination or hazards.
  • Assist with general material handling duties when not operating equipment, including:
    • Pallet wrapping and staging
    • Manual product movement
    • Sorting and organizing inventory
    • Preparing orders for shipment
    • Cleaning work areas and disposing of packaging materials
    • Supporting cycle counts and other warehouse tasks as needed

 

Requirements

  • Experience: 1+ year operating high reach forklifts in a warehouse environment.
  • Certification: Valid forklift operator certification (reach truck experience required).
  • Physical: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with OSHA standards and chemical handling procedures.
  • Skills: Attention to detail, RF scanning, and basic computer literacy.

 

Preferred

  • Experience in chemical or hazardous material handling.
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS).
