Under the close supervision of the Senior Environmental Scientist, Supervisor, the incumbent will conduct state and federal pesticide product compliance inspections, investigations, perform sampling, and follow-up on complaints and referrals. As part of the Enforcement Headquarters Branch, you will be part of a team that promotes a safe, fair, and equitable marketplace by ensuring all who sell pesticides in California comply with pesticide registration.
Duties include, but are not limited to: conducting field inspections/investigations of pesticide products; collecting pesticide product samples in the marketplace to determine compliance with established federal and state laws; respond to written, verbal and electronic questions from individuals, pesticide sellers, stakeholders or the public; collect relevant and reliable evidence to support findings of a violation; and attend trainings, workshops and seminars as needed.

NOTE: This position may be eligible for hybrid telework under Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California, subject to the candidate meeting telework eligibility criteria set forth in the CalEPA telework policy and/or future program need.
