Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant – Locum Opportunity - OR only

Location: Mt. Pleasant, SC

Royal Surgical Associates is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to join a respected cardiothoracic surgery team at a hospital neat Mt. Pleasant, SC. They are seeking OR coverage only.

This contract is ideal for advanced practice providers who thrive in fast-paced environments and are comfortable with high-volume caseloads, including first-assisting and endoscopic vein harvesting.

Contract Details:

• December 2025 Coverage only - 1 month
• Full-time schedule Mon-Fri
• Shared call 1:3

Compensation & Benefits:

• Competitive pay up to $150/hour, commensurate with experience
• 1099 contract structure for increased take-home pay
• All travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance provided
• Streamlined credentialing and onboarding process

Key Responsibilities:

• First-assist in high-volume cardiothoracic surgeries
• Perform endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH)
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, intensivists, and hospital staff

Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery
• Strong first-assist skills and proficiency with EVH
• NCCPA certification with active South Carolina licensure
