Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Golf course in Rhodes, Iowa is looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.
Position Overview:
Working directly with the Golf Course Superintendent, and other assistants on the management of the maintenance team, in all aspects of golf course maintenance. The position will be instrumental the facilitation of the daily scheduling and training of employees, implementing and working with other assistants on GPS chemical and fertilizer applications, irrigation scheduling and water management, directing repairs and maintenance of a rainbird irrigation system and central computer, all towards the direction of maintaining fine turf bentgrass playing surfaces, low mow bluegrass roughs, an expansive acreage of fine fescue native areas and whatever else is deemed necessary to achieve the desired playing conditions.
Requirements:
2-year associate or 4-year bachelor’s degree in Turf management or agronomy-related field, or someone with a desire to get into the turf field and work towards a degree online.
Previous experience at a top-level golf facility in a similar role is helpful, but opportunities to start your career and work your way up exist also, we will help each individual meet their goals and have a wide range of opportunities for growth available.
Individuals must be a hardworking, dedicated, dependable people with great attitudes to help lead the team to accomplish the goals within our company.
Someone who is organized, self-motivated, and has a strong desire to learn the art of turf management at a very high level.
Compensation:
$60,000 – $90,000 per year.
